Ruairi works as a Director, 3d modeller, animator, compositor
and designer, and has 7 years experience in post production/3d
animation, compositing, editing, storyboarding and design,
for film and tv.
He has worked on numerous high profile commercials
in Ireland, including Race Against Waste, Ritz, Zanussi,
Boru Vodka, 98FM, Amigo Orange Juice, etc... I've done
several film opening sequences, including When the Sky
Falls, Peaches, Disco Pigs, and the Hells Kitchen Cinema
ident. I've won a several ICAD and design awards for
commercials.
Ruairi has created 2 short animated films, ‘The
House on Dame Street’ and ‘Fifty Percent
Grey’. ‘Fifty Percent Grey’ has won
several awards and was selected for screening in the
Sundance Film Festival and around 70 other international
festivals It recieved an Oscar Nomination for Best Short
Animation at the 2002 Academy Awards, and won Best Animated
3d Short at the London Effects and Animation Festival
and the O2 awards.
He recently directed my first live action
short film titled ‘The Leveller’ starring
Cillian Murphy and Don Wycherley. Ruairi is currently
working on completing the last 3 spots for the BC Dairy
campaign.
