Graduating from Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design in 1991 he worked in different areas of television production and multi-media, in CKC (Christy Keneally Communications), and set up the graphics department in CBT Systems. In 1995 he co-founded Image Now Films.

Initially working with 3D graphics, he is now directing live action film shoots for commercials and promos.

Works completed have ranged from Commercials for Crisis Pregnancy, MTV, Ford, Eagle Star, Country Spring, Cadburys, Sqeez Orange Juice, Sligo Weekender, Amigo Orange, AA, 2FM, Boru Vodka, Ritz, Sony Playstation and PS2, Zanussi, and Coca-Cola.

Title sequences for television programmes, ‘The Classical World Series’ (Channel 4), ‘By Design’ (RTE), ‘POPON3’ (TV3).

Film Titles include Headrush, Goldfish Memory (2003), SW9, 2001), When The Sky Falls and Pressing the Flesh which was selected as one of the 22 top film title sequences in the world, displayed around the World at the Openers section in REZFEST,

On-Screen Identities for TnaG (live action and animated), Graphics for the big screen for the U2 Popmart World Tour, and music videos for the internationally renowned Bell X 1, and Little Drummer Boy

He Directed a short film ‘Alone’, commisioned by Adobe Systems in 2000. It was awarded a D&AD in 2001

Nick recently produced a short film Titled ‘The Leveller’ directed by Ruairi Robinson.

Image Now Films and Zanita Films are currently in post production on a short film titled "A Lonely Sky". Directed by Nick Ryan, Produced by Seamus Byrne starring Keir Dullea (2001, A Space Odyssey) and Paudge Behan (Veronica Guerin). A test pilot working to break the sound barrier, encounters a strange but familiar man in a bar, who questions his reasons and beliefs.
