Advertising
Nick has worked as a copywriter with Irish International Group for over 7 years and during that time have been involved in the creation and production of more than 50 television commercials for clients such as Guinness, Walkers Crisps, Hibernian Insurance, Aer Lingus and The Irish Independent.

During this time he has won numerous creative awards, including, most recently, a “Shark” at the Kinsale International Festival of Advertising for the Guinness global commercial “Free-In” - the first piece of Guinness advertising ever to run in Ireland, the UK, and the USA.

Music
Between 1986 and 1994 Nick was the lead singer and sole songwriter with Irish rock band The Fat Lady Sings, with whom he recorded two internationally released and acclaimed albums – “Twist” and “Johnson” - and toured the world.

More recently, Nick produced and released my debut solo album “Between Trapezes” on a completely independent basis – this record was responsible for his being named “Best Solo Male Artist” for 1999 at the Heineken/Hot Press Irish Music Critics Awards.

Last year Nick organised the recording and release of the album “Songs From A Small Room”, a live tribute to Ireland’s longest-running and best-loved songwriter night featuring among others Gemma Hayes, Luka Bloom, Mundy and Glen Hansard.

Journalistic
From 1983 until 1989 Nick contributed many articles on a freelance basis to a variety of music and lifestyle publications, including Smash Hits, NME, Hot Press and In Dublin. Between 1987 and 1989, he was employed as News Editor and Staff Writer on the EMAP computer games magazine Commodore User.

Literary
Nick’s short story “Expect Jail” was a winner of the Ian St James Awards – the UK’s largest competition for short fiction - in 1998.

Broadcasting
Nick recently completed a scary but exhilarating week sitting in as guest presenter on RTE Radio 1’s “Mystery Train” programme.

Legal
Nick qualified as a solicitor in May 1986, having trained with McCann Fitzgerald in Dublin, and Cravath Swaine & Moore in New York, and gave up his legal career the same day!
